Directions and Travel Update

There are currently disruptions to bus and train service as well as road traffic in Bonn. We suggest you allow more time than usual for your trip so that you can arrive at the event on time.

Below is a list of the disruptions and recommended travel information.

Travel by Public Transport

The nearest stop is Heussallee/Museumsmeile (a 500-meter walk to the WCCB).

Service disruptions in the Bonn city area:

  • The Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop is served by only two tram lines coming from the direction of downtown/the main train station (line 16 from Cologne and line 63 from Bonn-Tannenbusch).
  • Travel by train is not possible from Bad Godesberg or from the right bank of the Rhine (Bonn- Ramersdorf/Oberkassel). A rail replacement bus service has been set up.
  • From Siegburg, tram line 66 runs only as far as Bonn Central Station.
  • For further information, please visit the Stadtwerke Bonn website.

Service Disruptions on Deutsche Bahn:

  • On the route along the left bank of the Rhine between Cologne and Mainz, there are service restrictions in both directions for both long-distance and regional trains. Trains will not stop at Bonn Central Station. ICEs will make additional stops at Cologne Messe-Deutz, and ICs at Bonn-Beuel.
  • For regional service, replacement buses are running from Cologne Central Station. These also stop at the Bonn Heussallee/Museumsmeile station. For more information, please visit the Deutsche Bahn website (in German).

Directions from Cologne Central Station (on the left bank of the Rhine):

  • Take tram line 16 to Heussallee/Museumsmeile.
  • SEV RE 5X express buses run from Cologne Messe/Deutz nonstop to the Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop.
  • RE5 rail replacement service via Bonn Central Station to the Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop.

Directions from Cologne Messe/Deutz (on the right bank of the Rhine):

  • SEV RE 5X express buses run from Cologne Messe/Deutz to Heussallee/Museumsmeile without any stops.
  • Take long-distance service to Siegburg. For onward travel, see “Directions from Siegburg.”
  • Take regional trains RE 8 and RB 27 to Bonn-Beuel Station. For onward travel, see “Recommendations from Bonn-Beuel.”

Directions from Bonn-Beuel:

Take tram line 62 or the rerouted line 66 to Bonn Hbf, then transfer to line 16 or 63 toward Bad Godesberg and get off at the Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop.

Directions from Bonn-Bad Godesberg:

Take tram line 63 to the Hochkreuz stop, then transfer to the rail replacement service to the Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop.

Directions from Bonn-Ramersdorf:

Buses are running between the Ramersdorf and Heussallee/Museumsmeile stops to replace tram line 66.

Recommendation from the direction of Siegburg (including long-distance travel via the ICE station):

Take tram line 66 to Bonn Hbf, then transfer to line 16 or 63 toward Bad Godesberg to the Heussallee/Museumsmeile stop.

    Address:

    World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB)

Platz der Vereinten Nationen 2, 53113 Bonn

Delays are expected from all directions.

    Traffic disruptions:

    • Complete closure of the Nordbrücke/Friedrich-Ebert-Brücke (A565) between Bonn Beuel and Bonn Auerberg.
    • Due to the complete closure, significant delays are expected throughout the entire Bonn city area.
    • The A4 toward Olpe (from Cologne toward Bonn) is closed to vehicles weighing over 7.5 metric tons between the Köln-Klettenberg and Köln-Eifeltor interchanges. This is causing very long traffic jams in some areas and disruptions on all lanes.

You can find detailed recommendations on our website.
